    Since 1983 the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild has worked to support the development of the book arts in Canada. This web site is dedicated to that effort. The book arts include bookbinding, artists' books, papermaking, calligraphy, letterpress printing and typography, wood engraving, paper decorating, restoration, and conservation.


    Bookbinding 2 In-Studio

    Instructor: Don Taylor

    Location: Toronto ON (Don Taylor's bindery)
    SUNDAYS: Sept 18, Sept 25, Oct 2, Oct 16, Oct 23, Oct 30 (NOTE – the workshop does not meet on Thanksgiving weekend Sunday Oct 9)
    Course fee: $630 members / $690 non-members (incl. 1 year CBBAG membership)

    This six-day core curriculum workshop introduces intermediate techniques, such as rounding and backing, trimming a textblock, and sewn end bands, necessary for traditional binding structures. Participants will sew two models, completing one as a German case binding and the other as either a Bradel or split board binding.
